Despite the breadth of challenges that companion animals face in our society, the fundamental cause of most problems is owner behaviour. As such, it is important we understand the basic principles of human behaviour and how we may best approach behavioural change. In this webinar we will introduce some broad behaviour change frameworks, look at some examples of behaviour change programs, and identify aspects of these that you may be able to apply to specific animal management issues.

Webinar presenter:

Carmen Glanville:

After several years working in animal shelters and seeing first-hand the impacts of animal mistreatment, Carmen was determined to build her skills so she could make a difference. So she went ‘back to school’ and completed a Bachelor in Animal Science and Management before pursuing a PhD in dog welfare and human behaviour change. Her work combines animal welfare science and psychology to better understand both sides of the human-animal relationship and its implications for animal welfare.
